5. Jumpers specifications
5.1 All jumpers shall be terminated on both sides by connectors.
5.2 The required lengths of the jumpers may vary from 1 Meter up to 40 meters.
5.3 The connector ends shall be identified by plastic markers. The markers shall be designed not to compress the cable. Some movement of the plastic markers along the cable is allowed.
5.4 The patch cords shall Not be crossed – marked as A on one end of an individual fiber and A on the other side.
5.5 The patch cords shall be held together by plastic wrap carefully applied so as not to compress the cable. It is advisable to place the plastic wraps over the connector boots to prevent any damage to the cable.
5.6 Separation of each fiber from the figure 8 shall
Be easy and shall not harm, the fibers.
5.7 The jumpers shall be terminated by FC, SC or LC
Connectors both ends and/or hybrid jumpers between them.
5.8 The connector boot shall be at least 1.5 cm long, and shall be mounted in a way that will not slide on the jumper by pulling it down.(as described in table 3)
5.9 All connectors shall be supplied with mounted dust caps.
5.10 The connector ferrule shall be made of zirconia.
5.11 The FC connector housing shall be metallic. The key shall be same housing with the connector head, and not a separate ring around the connector.
